The Mechanics of Zero-Click Searches and the Weakening of Creators

This phenomenon, referred to as "zero-click" search, relies on advanced data extraction and synthesis technologies. To formulate these answers, algorithms leverage techniques similar to retrieval-augmented generation (RAG). This method involves scanning the web index, identifying the most relevant text segments using vector representations (or embeddings) that measure the semantic proximity of concepts, and then feeding these elements to a large language model (LLM) to write a seamless summary.
